how does it work for the guest?

Hosts typically include a link in their welcome email and a QR code inside the property. Some also feature it on their website to answer questions in advance and assist with multilingual queries before booking.

When the guest uses the link, or scans the QR code at the property, they are taken straight to the Airbnb Chatbot and can ask any questions they like.

We also advise hosts to include emergency contact information on the sign and within the chatbot, so if there is any real emergency, or something the chatbot feels is an emergency, the guest is prompted to call immediately and given the contact and emergency services details.

Some hosts also put it on their own website to answer questions ahead of time, as well as helping with questions in different languages before booking.

The initial setup of the chatbot, including all materials and time, is currently NZD$800. There is then an ongoing monthly charge of $100 to cover maintenance, updates and support.

However, as this is a new product we are offering, we are currently discounting those costs by 50% 

Typically, our service qualifies as an operating cost and is tax-deductible. However, tax laws vary, so we recommend consulting a local tax professional for advice tailored to your situation.
